Pumpstations transfer wastewater and stormwater uphill. That is when they are in good working order; when they are not, odours, flooding, and overflows can and do occur.
Pumpstations consist of a vault, pumps, pipework, valving, and control system; this is where a clash of drainage, plumbing, engineering, civil, and electrical trades occur and often requires specialist resources.
We look after both wastewater and stormwater pumpstations of all sizes and complexity.
Most manufacturers recommend servicing (and local authorities mandate inspection) minimally at six monthly intervals but consideration needs to be given to the application, medium, emergency storage, duty/standby and other pumping configurations, alarm systems, and general management planning.
If you have a pumpstation drama on your hands then call us. If not, then call us to discuss avoiding one.
The quicker we know about a pumpstation overflowing or in high level then the likely less the impact is going to be.
Most systems have at least 24 hours emergency capacity following high level notification but it is important to know when that started for obvious reasons!
If a system is overflowing then a vacuum truck will be required – refer to our Technical Services pages.
Whilst stormwater pumpstations can endure for some time (increasing flooding risks), wastewater pumpstations will almost certainly malfunction sooner or later without servicing.
The single biggest causes of pumpstation issues is foreign debris which can often be detected when servicing and inspecting.
Email us with some detail and photos of the pumpstation you have and we will provide a servicing offer.
We service commercial and domestic systems alike.
We service pumpstations that transfer to pressure sewer systems, gravity networks, and closed systems including onsite treatment systems and septic tanks.
Sometimes specialist lifting gear and confined space equipment will be required to appropriately service a large system – lucky we have both.
